Joshua's StoryOn the 25/8/2003 our son Joshua was born some 11 wks early weighing in at 3lb 10oz. Joshua suffered a massive cerebral bleed on his brain and we were given the devasting news that Joshua had Cerepbral Palsy. I will never forget what the doctor said to my husband & I "Joshua will have significant problems he will probably be a complete vegetable" She then walked out on us I remebering screaming noooooooo at the top of my voice and crying & crying. We drove home feeling so numb & alone. |

Catherine's Story'sCatherine was born on the 18th August 2006, a pretty normal birth, no complications I brought her home a few days later. At first things were quite difficult, Catherine had trouble feeding and hardly slept.I called the midwife who gave up and recommended bottle feeding... but at least she began to eat and sleep. She was a very quiet baby, I didn't have many probelms and her feeding routine was manageable very quickly; I counted myself lucky! |

Conner & Callum's StoryHello my name is Beckie and my story started right back at the beginning when I went for my first scan. At 14 weeks pregnant I discovered we were expecting identical twin's, but there was a problem with the scan. They said that the twin's both had a fold at the back of the neck, that was related to a chromosone which would be more than likely to be Downs Syndrome. We were transfered to Manchester and tested and they were in aggreement with Blackbur,n but couldn't tell us any more unless we had a amnio after much thought about this we decided the risks were too high and we wouldn't have it, so prepared ourselves that the twin's would have a disabilty......
